Furniture is one of the strategic creative industries sectors since it successfully

contributed to the second largest export value of accounting for 39.01% under

fashion sector and occupied the third position after the culinary and fashion sector

with employment accounting for 21.99% in 2016. In the paradigm of the creative

economy or knowledge-based economy, market competition is not only determined

by quality and price itself. However, the ideas become an intellectual property that

must be owned by organizations to achieve competitive advantages. This research

is conducted based on the research gap of the effect of information technology at

the knowledge management perspective on export performance, which is still

inconclusive. The sample used in this research is 175 owner/top management of

Furniture SMEs, which are spread in Central Java furniture centers such as Jepara,

Blora, Boyolali, Rembang, Pati, and Semarang. Data collection tool is standard

questionnaires, which is distributed by accidental random sampling method. The

Confirmatory Factor Analysis is used to determine the fit research model. Then, the

model is analyzed using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM) to test the

hypothesis. The direction of this research is to confirm the empirical model related

to the research gap, where the implementation of information technology in

organizations can strengthen export performance through moderating variables.

The research findings prove that there is an indirect influence of information

technology on export performance 0.514 through export marketing capabilities as

the optimum mediator, knowledge sharing, and supply chain management.
