Library information system is an application development which is used by the users or librarian to manage a library. With this application, librarian does not just able to monitoring the data but also can do activities like input, edit, and make reports. The problem of SMA N 6 Semarang’s library right now is t h e y still use a manual system for all of their administration activities. The example is how the visitors of the library still have to write their attendances in a paper form. There is not any catalogue provided for visitors to look for the book they want to read/borrow so they have to look for it directly from the bookshelves. This could take a lot of time do so. The other example is how the visitor fills the borrowing and restoration form by themselves that effects on how sometimes the visitors don’t pay fines. Besides it takes a large amount of times, the manual system is also not so economical because they continuously need papers, and the papers are also have possibility to be damaged or lost. Therefore an adequate library application is needed in order to develop the current system to gain results such as a faster, easier, and economical.
