Importing goods is complicated especially when the company has more than one vendor/exporter with different country, many parties and many documents get involved on it. This final project is written to analyse all the things related to import acitivty and its problems by conducting research at PT Harrison and Gil Java, Furniture Company which has many vendors from abroad. This final project is written descriptively with some data collected from primary and secondary sources such as interviews, observation, literature studies and internet browsing. In the activity of import, PT Harrison starts its import activity by identifying raw materials needed to make a furniture ordered by the buyer. Communication with vendor is started by finding them from particular resources and finished it by signing sales contract. The vendors come from China, France, Italy, Thailand and USA make it different for agreement of terms and conditions. In running its import activity, PT Harrison is supported by different forwarders for diverse countries. Forwarders are trusted to find appropriate shipping company/airline company, trucking company and EMKL. PT Harrison uses Ex Work as the term of trade with Letter of Credit (L/C) and Telegraphic Transfer (T/T) as the payment. For customs administration process, PT Harrison uses system application BC 2.3 as the term to propose import goods to the custom, other documents needed for administration process are Invoice, Packing list, B/L or AWB, Phytosanitary, COO, COA, Certificate of Fumigation, Packing Declaration, BC 2.3 and Letter of Authority. PT Harrison with its status “bonded-zone company” has facility for not paying tax to the government as long as the goods are for production and are purposed to be exported.
